The Warrior Fund
What is the Warrior Fund? An annual fundraising campaign to support LT’s students, teachers & staff. Historically, it is 20% of the PTO’s income. The PTO is a 501(c)(3); donations are tax deductible.
Where do Funds Go? Your support for the Warrior Fund pays for our community events; teacher requests; academic support for students, including Reading with Friends & Math with Friends; subsidies for the aftercare program; teacher appreciation efforts; and more. These programs are not part of the DCPS provided school budget and rely on PTO funding for support.
The PTO’s ‘24-‘25 budget is approximately $185,000. The top 5 areas of planned spending this school year are shown below, including specific expenditures to date.
Examples of recent expenses include the following:
- Community Events – Movie Night & Thanksgiving Potluck;
- Teacher Requests – Classroom furniture (rugs, cubbies, mailboxes, flexible seating); closed 10 Donors Choose projects to bring $10,000+ in supplies to LT; 40+ individual teacher requests fulfilled;
- Academic Support – Math workbooks, Roots of Empathy curriculum, Math & Reading with Friends subsidy;
- Aftercare Subsidy – Aftercare subsidy & scholarships;
- Teacher Appreciation – Back to school breakfast & lunch, LT apparel for new staff, monthly teacher appreciation activities, full staff holiday gifts & party.
Donate Online via PayPal, Credit, or Debit Card
Our preferred digital payment for the Warrior Fund (for tax purposes) is the PayPal Giving Fund. Donations made via the PayPal Giving Fund include a tax deductible receipt. When using PayPal, make Ludlow-Taylor your favorite charity by clicking the heart. We receive an extra $1 with every transaction you make. You can donate via credit or debit card without a PayPal account!
Donate In Person
During drop-off and pick-up on Giving Tuesday 12/3 & at Coffee Talk Friday 12/6. We can accept cash, checks & other digital payment options, including Venmo & Cash App in person!
Donate by Check
Place checks in the secure lock box in the parent lounge at school whenever it’s convenient for you. Or you can hand them to us at an in-person giving opportunity (see above).
Other Digital Payments
We can accept Venmo, Zelle, or CashApp, but cannot provide a tax deductible receipt. Contact us at warriorfund@ludlowtaylor.org to give via any of these methods.
Warrior Fund Pizza Party Participation Challenge:
At LT, our greatest strength is our community. The Warrior Fund is about coming together to make a difference for our students. Participation matters just as much as the amount you give. EVERY donation (whether $1 or $1,000) reflects your commitment to our school and helps us reach our shared goals.
Grade Level Student & Parent Pizza Party for Highest Participation! The grade level with the highest overall rate of participating families (the number of families, not total dollars given) by the end of Tuesday, December 10 will receive a grade level pizza party at school for students AND parents organized by the PTO.
Donate ANY AMOUNT before midnight on December 10 and your donation will count towards the pizza party challenge! If you have more than one LT student, your donation will count as participation for ALL of them; there is no need to make multiple donations. Please make sure you indicate the grade level of each of your LT students when you donate!
LT Stickers & LT Holiday Gelt!
With EVERY donation, your student will receive your choice of a school-branded sticker (perfect for showcasing your Warrior pride on water bottles, notebooks, etc. ) OR LT branded holiday gelt. These items are first come, first served and will be available while supplies last at the Holiday Art Night at school on Tuesday, December 10. It’s a small but meaningful way to celebrate your contribution to our school community!
LT Yetis! 
For those who contribute $200 or more, you’ll also receive a custom-branded Yeti tumbler, an exclusive keepsake that combines practicality with school spirit! Whether you’re sipping coffee on the go or staying hydrated at your student’s next game, this premium tumbler is a daily reminder of the difference you’ve made for our students. These incentives–limited to one per family–are our way of saying thank you for helping us make a difference together!
